The Eglinton West Law Office provides quality legal services in child protection, family, and criminal law to individuals and families in the Greater Toronto Area. We support access to justice for low and moderate income clients by offering reasonable fees, accepting legal aid certificates and assisting self-represented litigants.
The Eglinton West Law Office is operated by Renatta Austin Professional Corporation.
Renatta is a dynamic trial and appeal lawyer. She holds a Bachelor‘s degree in Criminology and Political Science from the University of Toronto, a law degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, and a Master's degree from the University of Western Ontario. Renatta has also completed specialized training in trial and appellate advocacy through Osgoode Hall Law School and the Advocates' Society.
Renatta spends an average of three days each week representing clients in court. She is particularly skilled at representing clients in complex cases that involve parallel criminal and family court proceedings.
Renatta is a Director of the Women’s Health in Women’s Health Community Health Centre.
Pierrette obtained her Law Clerk diploma in 2015. She has her own personal experience with family law and child protection, as she was made a Crown Ward at a young age. She wishes to utilize the experiences she gained through her upbringing to positively influence families dealing with the legal system, and to bring awareness to mental health issues. Pierrette is the first point of contact at our office for general inquiries and client matters.
Bethany holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Toronto. She has a deep understanding of social justice issues, court procedures and case management.
Bethany is responsible for assisting clients with their files, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of our firm.
We charge an hourly fee for legal services. Our time is recorded and invoices are rendered for the actual time spent by the lawyer and/or law clerk on client matters.
In an effort to make legal services affordable and available to all, we do NOT offer free consultations.
An initial 30-minute consultation is $100, plus HST (total $113.00). Consultations that last longer than 30 minutes will be billed at our regular hourly rate, with payment due at the end of the appointment.
We require confirmation of the appointment and payment of the consultation fee at least 48 hours in advance of a consultation. If payment is not made, the appointment will be cancelled.
Please note that the consultation fee is NON-REFUNDABLE if the appointment is cancelled within 48 hours of the start date. If you are late for your appointment, your time slot will not be held for more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time. Payment can be made online using a credit card (above), or by sending an Interac E-Transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org
Our firm accepts Legal Aid Certificates for child protection, family and criminal law matters in the GTA.
At this time, we accept cash or credit only as payment methods in our office. We DO NOT accept debit card payments in office.
